Domo Card Interaction

Domo Card Interaction:

Title: The title of the card describes your chart. Follow your company's conventions and make sure the name you choose succinctly conveys the meaning of the card. However, we recommend you don’t include date range, summary number, units, or amounts in your title.

Summary: The summary number displays a measurement that is meaningful on its own but is related to the card. The summary number label (Average Fluff of Baking Powder) should always describe what the summary number is displaying. The summary number can also be used to trigger alerts about your data.

Card description: The card description should provide additional context for the card consumers to gain a full understanding of the visualization. A description can include what the card measures, the time period covered, key business questions it addresses, and actions that can be taken from the card. View the card description by hovering your mouse over the card title.

Card owner: The profile picture of the card owner allows people to quickly identify whom to contact with any questions about a card. The card owner can help if you want to know more about the card, DataSet or if the card is not working.

Card views: Domo tracks the number of views of each card so organizations can determine the number of views in the last 30 days and how useful the card appears to be for stakeholders.

Data powering the card: This feature allows viewers at a glance to see the type of DataSet the card is built from. In this example, an Excel sheet is being used. You can hover your mouse over the icon to see the exact name of the DataSet.

Details view of a card

Open a Buzz conversation: connected to the card and at mention other users to quickly share the card and collaborate around your data.

Create and apply card-level filters to filter on one or more values within your columns.

Note: Card-level filters applied in the Details view are temporary and will not persist once you navigate away or for other viewers of the card

With Annotations, you can:

  • Take a snapshot of a card, edit the image, and download to share with someone else.
  • Create date annotations on cards using a date type column on the x-axis.

Note: only Editor access right users and above or custom roles with card editing rights have access to add date annotations.

  • Hide or show any existing annotations.

Share the card with other users in Domo, save a new version, or export the card to a variety of options.

·         Note: Participant user roles and lower or custom roles that do not have the permissions to edit cards only have access to export cards in this menu

Update DataSet and Data Lineage: Update the data powering your card by selecting a different DataSet and view the Lineage so you always know from where the data in your DataSet comes.

Note: Only Editor user levels and above or custom roles with the right to edit DataSets can view the Data Lineage tool.

Lock card: Check this box to ensure that only the card owner and Domo Administrators can edit the card.

Drilling into data

Adding a drilldown to a card adds another layer of interaction by allowing users to click on graph elements such as bars or points on a line to drill into the data and see a filtered view.

For example, the card below represents total sales for each region by quarter. Because there is a drillpath built to show sales by week, by clicking on the Americas region bar for Q3, we drill into the data to view the weekly trend for that region and quarter. You can always view the filters being used at the top of the drillpath chart.

You can also read more about drilldowns here

Note: Only Editor users and above or custom roles with the right to edit cards can create drillpaths.

Certifying cards

Using the card certification feature, cards can be certified at a company or department level so users know which content has been approved, just by looking at the card.
